How to sign in with Xtream Codes

Some IPTV providers hand you a playlist link. Others give you three pieces of information instead: a server address, a username and a password. That second style is Xtream Codes, and Tuna IPTV supports it directly.

What you need first: Xtream Codes credentials from your own provider. Tuna does not sell, bundle or supply access to any service.

1

Start a new playlist

Open the My Playlists tab and choose to add a playlist. On a new install the button reads Add Your First Playlist.

2

Switch the source to Xtream Codes

At the top of the New Playlist form is a Source switch with two options: M3U URL and Xtream Codes. Select Xtream Codes and the form changes to show credential fields.

3

Enter your credentials

  • •Name — a label for the playlist, your choice.
  • •Server — the address your provider gave you, in the form http://server.com:port. Include the scheme and the port number.
  • •Username and Password — exactly as issued. Both are case-sensitive.
  • •Color — a tag colour for the playlist list.

Press Create. Tuna signs in, pulls your channel list and caches it on the device.

What Tuna does with an Xtream connection

Xtream streams are converted to HLS so they play with the system's native video player rather than a bundled engine. Your channel list is stored locally, so the app opens straight into your channels instead of signing in and downloading the list again every time.

After that, an Xtream playlist behaves like any other: categories, search, favorites, sorting and layout choices all work the same way.
